NOSE

Nasal allergy
Allergic rhinitis is one of the most common problems in urban India. Symptoms include running nose,
sneezing, itching, dry cough, and nose block.
Treatment: Preventive measures, medical management (oral medicines, sprays, drops),
allergy testing, and immunotherapy.

Nasal polyp
Nasal polyps are swollen masses inside the nasal lining. Symptoms: blockage, reduced smell, headache,
sneezing, running nose.
Treatment: Steroids, antibiotics, and in resistant cases, endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS).

Nasal bleeding / Epistaxis
Common causes: injury, nose picking, hard blowing, cold, infections, deviated septum, high BP, tumors.
Treatment: Pinch the nose & apply ice. Medicines & injections help. Severe cases may need ENT care.

NASAL PACKING
Severe bleeding is controlled by nasal packing or cauterization. Underlying issues like high BP or septum deviation are treated simultaneously.

Sinusitis
Infection of the facial sinuses. Symptoms: headache, facial pain, discharge, fever.
Treatment: Antibiotics, pain killers, steam inhalation. Resistant cases need FESS surgery.

Deviation of nasal septum & enlarged turbinate
Causes nasal blockage and distress. Surgical correction is the best treatment.

FESS (Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery)
Endoscope-assisted surgery for sinusitis, polyps, tumors. Uses microdebrider for precision and no external scar.

Nasal Cauterisation
Used for repeated nose bleeding. Provides permanent solution for some patients.

Endoscopic Septoplasty
Corrects deviated nasal septum using an endoscope. Relieves nose block, sinusitis, headaches, and bleeding.
